More about Grace

I’m a passionate creative and food is my muse. My deep love for food stemmed from my diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease in my teen years — when I was forced to strip my diet and learn about the foods I was putting in my body. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from UC Davis in Communications and Professional Writing, where my obsession for food grew as I developed the Food & Culture column at my university paper, The California Aggie. After graduating, I sought out careers in the kitchen, as a line cook at the cafe in the women’s co-working space, The Wing, and at Michelin-Star Italian Restaurant S.P.Q.R. I put my degree to use, working as Head of Content Marketing for Locale, a Bay Area food delivery startup, working with nearly a hundred local farms, small food businesses, and restaurants — learning about their craft and telling their stories. I continue to freelance write for food publications, like Mashed — geeking out on why it’s optimal to preheat pans before adding oil, the history of Berkeley Bowl, and many more. The culmination of these experiences prepared me to start my own personal chef business where I share my enthusiasm for healthy and nourishing food with my clients.
